May 2010: It's unfortunate that for many of us CPD brings to mind paperwork, policing and the risk of being drummed out of the regiment. This masks the crucial importance of learning to our credibility as interims and advisors. If we don't make time fo it, we're letting  ourselves and clients down. Apr 2010: Carolyn Bresh, speaking at the event, highlighted resonance between her experience of running and reviewing a range of Finance functions and the thinking put forward by the ICAEW’s thought leadership team. The conference attracted 150 delegates – finance professionals and academics.

Carolyn Bresh profiled by CFO Europe as she takes on chair role at ICAEW

July 2009: Carolyn Bresh was profiled in the June issue of CFO Europe which goes out to over 40,000 CFOs across Europe.  There she discussed the critical role Finance teams play in the current turbulent market conditions and the qualities CFOs need to succeed and lead their businesses through this stage of the cycle.  The profile coincided  with her taking the Chair of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Finance and Management faculty.  The faculty provides support through high quality events and publications to some 10,000 Finance Directors and Controllers in business. Everymind client wins prestigious award

Dec 2008: Thunderhead, the document management software company, has been ranked as the top company in the Deloitte Fast 50 technology awards for 2008. sales at Thunderhead have risen an average of 87% a year between 2004 and 2007.

 

Carolyn Bresh addresses ICAEWs Annual Financial Controllers Conference

Nov 2008: Everymind partner Carolyn Bresh gave a presentation on 'Driving the bottom line' to the Institute of Chartered Accountants annual conference for Financial Controllers. Over one hundred Financial Controllers from the UK's leading companies attended. Carolyn's address stressed the need for finance executives to 'do the right things well' in areas such as people management, strategy and stakeholder management in addition to the typical responsibilities of finance.

 

Everymind starts work with Ideal Standard

Everymind has commenced a major process improvement project within the finance operations of Ideal Standard. Acquired by Bain Capital in 2007 for US$1.7bn, Ideal Standard aims to improve efficiencies and costs across Europe and Asia.

Everymind marked its 5th anniversary by reporting growth in revenues of 260% in 2007/08. Our growth is driven by our focus and approach. Our focus is on helping management teams, particularly MDs and FDs, determine the best strategy for growth, breaking the strategy down into clear action plans and ensuring management team/staff buy-in and involvement. Carolyn Bresh invited to talk to future business leaders

As a prominent 10-year alumni of London Business School, Carolyn was recently invited back to give advice and insight on making the most of life after an Executive MBA to the current group of 90 graduates from around the world. Carolyn's 'Q&A' session was part of the Capstone module that concludes the Executive MBA programme which is lead by Freek Vermeulen. Freek, who is an Associate Professor of Strategic and International Management, started off firing the questions himself before opening the session to a barrage of questions from the graduating students.  The session covered a number of themes including Carolyn's experience before, during and after the Executive MBA and how the MBA helped her career in 3 key areas: spearheading successful transformation at Reuters (click here to read more); transitioning herself from the corporate world to Everymind; and moving from a senior line-management role to an advisory role.
